Tell us about your education and continuing training.
I commuted between Helena and Missoula, MT to attend the intensive program at Sacred Roots Massage School of Montana. Since graduating and diving into my career, I have made it a habit to dedicate an hour or two each week to learning; listening to a podcast, reading a book, or taking a functional anatomy class, anything to continue learning.

How did you discover massage therapy and what attracted you to it?
I have managed my own chronic pain for over a decade and have relied on massage therapy as a crucial tool for pain management and overall wellbeing. After completing a BA in psychology and anthrozoology from Carroll College in Helena, MT, I began a career in criminal justice advocacy but quickly burned out. I was looking for a career that tapped into my love for learning, was filled with compassion and entrepreneurship, and allowed me to work in an environment that was better for my health – I haven’t had a day of work that I haven’t loved since becoming a massage therapist.

What do you want people to know about their bodies and self-care?
Our bodies are incredibly resilient with the right tools.
Self-care doesn’t have to be an expensive or time-intensive chore, small acts of self-love multiply and bring a healthier, more fulfilling day. Practicing gratitude, drinking water, and spending a few minutes outdoors can change the course of your day. -
What is your favorite part of the body to work on?
I really enjoy working on the posterior pelvis and SI, there are so many muscles working together and so much dynamic movement. I also really enjoy working on shoulders, specifically scapulas.

Favorite thing to do outside of bodywork?
I am a gardening fanatic and currently building a dream of a permaculture style farm with my partner. I absolutely adore my animals and will likely talk about my dogs too much.
