  • Tell us about your education and continuing training.

I received my training at NW School of Massage in Federal Way, WA in 1997. The school had a heavy focus on injury treatment, which I loved learning. Most of the continuing education I've centered on has been myofascial  release and injury treatment, mainly in the cervical region.

  • How did you discover massage therapy and what attracted you to it?

I had my first massage at 18 years old after hurting my back playing football. Been hooked ever since!  I didn't start massage school until my late 20's. After spending a couple years taking classes at the local community college, I still didn't know what I wanted to do. During that time, a co-worker was attending massage school. During breaks I would help him with kinesiology, and in return, he would dig his elbows into my upper back. The thought of learning massage seemed intriguing, so I asked many questions regarding the school and his training. By the end of that year, I had enrolled in massage school.

  • What do you want people to know about their bodies and self-care?

Your body has the innate ability to heal itself. With our fast paced world, social media, all the distractions add up, not paying enough attention to our bodies until something is wrong. As I've gotten older, keeping active and stretching have become extremely important to me. Find what works for you. And don't forget to breathe!

  • What is your favorite part of the body to work on?

The neck. So many moving parts in a small area. Great for relieving stress.

  • Favorite thing to do outside of bodywork?

Outside of work I enjoy listening to music, playing guitar, reading a book, watching live stand up comedy, hiking, woodcarving, game night with family, and enjoying a really good beer!
